About the Role
We are looking for a warm, organised, and reliable Casual Medical Receptionist to join our team at Lumus Imaging Brookvale. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, playing a vital part in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the practice. Casual shifts will be offered to cover leave, peak periods, and ongoing rostering needs, with the potential for regular hours for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients in a professional and friendly manner
- Schedule and manage appointments across multiple modalities
- Process referrals and liaise with referring doctors and their rooms
- Handle incoming calls, general enquiries, and patient correspondence
- Accurately enter and maintain patient demographics and billing information
- Process Medicare, DVA, and private health fund billing
- Collect payments and manage end-of-day reconciliation
- Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming reception area
- Support clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow throughout the day
About You
- Previous experience in a medical reception or healthcare administration role is essential
- Experience in diagnostic imaging or radiology is highly regarded
- Familiarity with practice management software (experience with RIS systems an advantage)
- Strong working knowledge of Medicare and private health fund billing
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a busy, fast-paced environment
- Flexible availability to cover a variety of shifts including mornings, afternoons, and occasional Saturdays
