Lumus Imaging is seeking an experienced and driven Payroll Supervisor to join our National Payroll team. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a key leadership role within a large, complex organisation where accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement are highly valued.
As the 2iC to the Senior Payroll Manager, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-volume, complex payroll services while supporting and guiding a small, high-performing payroll team. Working closely with the broader People & Culture function, you will help ensure our people are paid accurately, on time, and in full compliance with legislative requirements.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Payroll Manager, you will oversee fortnightly and off-cycle payroll processing and act as a trusted subject matter expert across the business.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Partnering with the Payroll Administrator to deliver accurate and timely fortnightly and off-cycle payroll processing.
- Managing compliance across PAYG, payroll tax, superannuation, STP, FBT, WorkCover, NES, EBAs, and relevant legislation.
- Leading month-end and year-end processes, including balance sheet reconciliations and statutory reporting.
- Maintaining payroll data integrity, audit documentation, and employee master data.
- Providing expert guidance to employees and leaders on payroll queries, entitlements, and complex pay matters.
- Driving system enhancements and continuous process improvement initiatives across HRIS and payroll platforms.
- Acting as 2iC to the Senior Payroll Manager and leading the National Payroll team in their absence.
About You
You are a confident and technically strong payroll professional who thrives in a high-volume environment. You bring both operational excellence and a proactive mindset focused on improvement and compliance.
You will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting and/or Payroll Operations (or equivalent experience).
- 7+ years’ experience in a senior payroll role within a large, complex organisation.
- Strong experience with Dayforce (highly regarded) and other enterprise payroll systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel capability and strong proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
- Demonstrated expertise in payroll tax, reconciliations, and month-end/financial year-end processes.
- Deep knowledge of current NES, ATO requirements, payroll legislation, and industrial instruments.
- Exceptional attention to detail, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to provide clear, accurate payroll advice.
- The ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and drive continuous improvement.
