We have an opportunity in our administration leadership team for a Clerical in Charge to join our team based in our St. Vincents, Chermside clinic. This would be the perfect opportunity for a senior healthcare administration team member looking to advance their career, or for an experienced Clerical In Charge / Head Receptionist / Medical Secretary looking for a change.
As Clerical In Charge, you are pivotal in ensuring smooth operations and the best patient experience and must be comfortable problem solving and troubleshooting on a regular basis.
This exciting opportunity is offered on a permanent full time basis.
The successful candidate will work a 38 hours week and be rostered over our clinic hours which are Monday to Friday from 7am - 10pm. Saturday and Sunday shifts are also available if interested.

Key responsibilities include:
- Recruiting, onboarding, mentoring and developing the clerical team
- Clerical rostering, supervision of workflow processes within the department, staff management processes including
performance management and appraisals. - Day to day practice management ensuring efficient workflows of approx 15 team members
- Delivering exceptional patient experience
- Billing and account management i.e. Medicare resubmissions
- Patient record management
- Active leadership by participating in Clinical meetings and partnering with peer leaders across our network of clinics
- Manage grievances where possible and escalate as appropriate.
- Delegate tasks, give directives and ensure effective understanding and compliance as
required by team member. - Required to work across multiple areas of the department to cover leave
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous administration experience in a medical / healthcare environment
- Experience working closely with department modality managers
- Working knowledge of RIS and Patient Archiving Communication systems
- Working knowledge of all relevant policies and procedures and must ensure compliance with such policies.
- Understand MBS rulings and intricacies.
- Excellent communication and organisation skills
- Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy

- Practical approach and can-do attitude
