What we are looking for:
We are after someone with a positive attitude and a genuine passion for healthcare. You’ll need to bring:
- A team-player mindset, willing to collaborate with both medical and non-medical staff.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Role would suit applicants with a nursing or healthcare background who require day shifts with flexible hours negotiable for the right applicant.
- The drive to constantly learn and develop new skills in a fast-paced hospital environment.
What does the role entail?
- Prepare patients for Nuclear Medicine, PET, and cardiac stress procedures, including verification of identity, referral, consent, and relevant clinical history.
- Perform cannulation (training provided if needed), blood glucose testing, and clinical assessments as required and within scope of practice
- Screen patients for contraindications to PET and myocardial perfusion stress testing, including medications, fasting status, caffeine intake, and cardiac risk factors.
- Support PET and NM workflows, including patient preparation, uptake phase supervision, and scan readiness
- Monitor and support patients before, during, and after procedures, including those who are anxious, vulnerable, or mobility-limited
- Prepare, clean, and restock procedure rooms, uptake areas, and patient environments
- Check emergency equipment, drug trolleys, and consumables to ensure clinical readiness
- If you have a nursing background, prepare and monitor patients during exercise or pharmacological stress testing (adenosine, dipyridamole, dobutamine)
- Assist with quality control activities and maintain a safe, organised clinical environment
- Maintain radiation safety (ALARA), infection control, and contamination prevention standards
