MRI Lead Radiographer – Northern Beaches Hospital

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Lead MRI Radiographer to oversee and advance MRI services within our high-acuity, multidisciplinary hospital setting at Northern Beaches Hospital.
This role combines clinical excellence with leadership responsibilities, ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality imaging services while driving innovation, efficiency, and team development.

The ideal candidate would have 7+ years’ MRI experience, proven success in a management position, and Siemens MRI experience would be an advantage.

Lumus, Northern Beaches Hospital offers an extended hours MRI service and candidates would be expected to participate in working days, evenings, weekends, and on call.

What we need from you.

  • Lead and supervise daily MRI operations, ensuring optimal workflow, image quality, and patient-centred care, while managing rostering, leave, resource allocation, and team performance effectively
  • Exercise strong initiative, sound judgment, and independent problem solving with a positive, can-do approach, building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Advanced MRI experience across a broad range of specialties (neuro, cardiac, MSK, oncology, paediatric) in a complex or tertiary setting
  • Drive quality improvement, protocol optimisation, and service development in collaboration with departmental leads, with the opportunity to contribute to the Lumus National MRI Advisory Group
  • Train, mentor, and supervise MRI radiographers and students, fostering a growth mindset and a commitment to ongoing CPD across the team
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, protocols, and regulatory requirements
  • Current AHPRA registration
