Position Summary:

Lumus Imaging has an exciting opportunity for an MRI Radiographer to join a new MRI service within Brisbane’s inner-east.

In this role, you will play a key part in establishing and developing the MRI service, with responsibility for workflow management, clinical quality, and delivering an outstanding patient experience.

This position offers exposure to an established MRI operation across our inner-west clinics, before transitioning into a key role supporting the launch of our new inner-east site in late 2026.

You will also contribute to a broader networked MRI service, providing remote clinical support across additional sites and occasionally visiting inner-west locations to support protocol alignment, training, and consistency of standards.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic imaging examinations including, but not limited to:
    • General X-ray
    • MRI and CT
    • Fluoroscopy and theatre imaging (where applicable)
    • Mobile and ward imaging
  • Conduct imaging in accordance with:
    • MRTBA professional capabilities
    • RANZCR imaging referral and practice guidelines
    • ARPANSA radiation safety and protection standards
    • Medicare (MBS) requirements
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation
  • Identify and escalate critical or unexpected findings promptly

Patient Care & Safety

  • Confirm patient identity, clinical history, and examination appropriateness
  • Explain procedures clearly and obtain informed consent where required
  • Apply radiation safety principles, including ALARA
  • Maintain patient dignity, privacy, and cultural sensitivity

Equipment & Operational Responsibilities

  • Operate and care for imaging equipment in accordance with manufacturer and workplace guidelines
  • Ensure accurate documentation within RIS/PACS and electronic medical records
  • Contribute to efficient workflow, patient throughput, and service delivery
  • Comply with organisational policies, WHS requirements, and infection control standards

Requirements:

  • Min. 1 years MRI experience
  • Demonstrated experience exceeding patient care and customer service delivery standards
  • University or equivalent qualifications in Medical Imaging Technology
  • Current AHPRA Registration and QLD radiation license
  • Understanding of relevant WHS practices.
  • Driver's license
