Our Medical Imaging team based in our Peninsula Private Hospital - Kippa Ring clinic are on the lookout for one Part Time (38 hours) Mat Leave cover to work Tuesday, Thursdays and Fridays and one Casual Medical Receptionist to join them in providing the best service and care to our patients. You will be joining a dynamic friendly team with the clinic hours running from 7:30am - 5pm Monday to Friday and Saturday 12pm - 4pm (Saturday shift will be allocated on a roational basis). Lumus Imaging provides a wide range of radiology services to patients including X Rays, CT Scan’s and Ultrasounds.

Position Summary

The Medical Receptionist is responsible for providing high-quality reception and administrative support within Lumus Imaging. This role ensures smooth and efficient functions, delivering excellent patient care and service. The Medical Receptionist will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring their experience is positive and welcoming.

 

Key Responsibilities

Patient Interaction:

  • Greet patients and visitors in a professional and considerate manner.
  • Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations.
  • Assist patients with paperwork and ensure accurate completion of forms.

 

Administrative Duties:

  • Answer phone calls, emails, and other communications promptly and professionally.
  • Manage patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy laws.
  • Process billing and payments, including Medicare and private health insurance and DVA claims.
  • Coordinate with radiologists, technologists, and other health care professionals to ensure effective workflow.

 

Compliance and Safety:

  • Adhere to all relevant Australian health and safety regulations and policies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area.

 

Customer Service:

  • Provide information to patients regarding procedures, preparation, and follow-up care.
  • Handle patient complaints and concerns with empathy and professionalism.
  • Foster a positive and supportive environment for patients and staff.

 

Technical Skills:

  • Utilize medical software systems for scheduling, billing, and patient management.
  • Operate office equipment, such as computers, printers, and telephones.

 

Qualifications and Skills

Essential:

  • Previous experience in a customer service and administrative role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Ability to manage multiple IT systems while providing face to face and over the phone support
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality and privacy regulations.

 

Desirable:

  • Experience in a health care, radiology or medical imaging setting.
  • Knowledge of Medicare and private health insurance processes
