About the Role
This is a standalone, national role based in Melbourne where you will be responsible for overseeing health and safety across all Lumus Imaging sites Australia-wide. With minimal direct support, you will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Work Health and Safety Management System (WHSMS). You will play a critical role in ensuring compliance, conducting risk assessments, leading internal audits, and supporting workplace managers in fostering a strong safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct internal audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement control measures.
- Provide expert guidance to workplace managers on risk management and WHS compliance.
- Lead the investigation and management of workplace incidents, adverse events, and near misses across all sites.
- Ensure compliance with state-based regulatory requirements for notifiable incidents.
- Maintain comprehensive WHSMS documentation and integrate safe work practices into standard operating procedures.
- Monitor industry standards and regulatory changes, providing proactive recommendations for improvement.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Identify training needs and develop health and safety programs tailored to organisational requirements.
About You
Minimum Requirements:
- Diploma in Work Health & Safety (Tertiary qualification highly regarded).
- Minimum of 5 years in a health and safety role, preferably in the healthcare sector.
- Strong understanding of Australian WHS regulations and standards.
- Proven experience in implementing and maintaining a WHSMS within a quality management framework.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage WHS across multiple locations with minimal direct support.
