Primary Purpose of Role
The purpose of this role is to act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for PACS and advanced imaging applications, while leading training and adoption across the organisation.
This role will support the National PACS Product Lead by ensuring optimal use of imaging systems (PACS, RIS, and advanced visualisation tools), improving user capability, workflow efficiency, and overall system performance.
Key Skills & Responsibilities
- Deliver structured training programs for radiologists, radiographers, and administrative staff on PACS, RIS, and imaging workflows
- Develop and maintain training materials, guides, and standard operating procedures
- Support onboarding of new staff and ongoing education for existing users
- Drive user adoption and best practice workflows across sites
- Act as the PACS Subject Matter Expert across Intelerad/InteleViewer and related workflows
- Provide expert guidance on radiology workflows (reporting, worklists, dictation integration, return-to-tech, etc.)
- Identify and implement workflow improvements and optimisation opportunities
- Support and advise on advanced visualisation tools (e.g. Syngo.via) and their integration into clinical workflows
- Provide Level 3 support for escalated PACS/RIS issues
- Troubleshoot complex incidents involving integrations
- Collaborate with vendors (e.g. Intelerad, Siemens, Promedicus) to resolve issues
- Ensure ticket quality, documentation, and SLA adherence
- Support system upgrades, enhancements, and new deployments
- Participate in testing (UAT), validation, and rollout activities
- Assist in implementation of new workflows, integrations, and AI solutions
Skills and Qualifications:
- 3+ years’ experience in Imaging applications (PACS/RIS) in a functional or technical role
- Strong knowledge of:
- PACS systems (e.g. Intelerad / InteleViewer)
- RIS systems (e.g. Visage / Promedicus)
- Radiology workflows (radiologists, radiographers, sonographers)
- Experience with advanced visualisation tools (e.g. Syngo.via) or willingness to support and learn
- Strong communication and training/presentation skills
- Demonstrated ability to engage with clinical stakeholders
Experience:
- Experience delivering end-user training in clinical or imaging systems
- Experience supporting PACS workflows and integrations (HL7, report delivery, PACS workflows)
- Background in radiology environment (clinical, operational, or IT)
