Position Summary:
Lumus Imaging is on the lookout for a dynamic and passionate Chief Radiographer to lead our team at Knox Private Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced supervisor ready to take ownership of a new site and play a key role in delivering high-quality imaging services.
As Chief Radiographer, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Medical Imaging Department in a private hospital setting. You’ll lead a dedicated team, ensure exceptional patient care, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards. Working closely with radiologists, referrers, and hospital leadership, you’ll help drive safe, efficient, and innovative imaging outcomes.

Key accountabilities include:
- Plan and manage the daily technologist workforce requirements and productivity in the clinics by ensuring appropriate staff rostering, annual leave planning and managing sick and other leave as required
- Manage, develop, and mentor technologist staff and provide clinical guidance
- Ensure outstanding service delivery and provide supervision of the day-to-day management of the Medical Imaging departments
- Provide quality improvement initiatives, and review and refine work practices to improve clinical and financial outcomes
- Perform routine and specialised medical imaging procedures to the highest professional standards as required
- Establish and maintain strong, cooperative relationships with key referrers and hospital stakeholders
Key selection criteria:
- Ability to manage, coach and lead clinic staff
- Proven leadership experience in managing or supervising a team of radiographers or medical imaging professionals.
- Demonstrated ability to perform high quality medical imaging examinations employing correct techniques to the accepted industry standard or above
- Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with radiologists, patients, staff, and other medical and non-medical personnel verbally and in writing
- Strong work ethic and commitment to the culture and values of Lumus Imaging.
- general radiography including X-Ray, operating theatre, and CT
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Imaging or Diagnostic Radiography.
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Medical Radiation Practitioner.
- Valid radiation use licence in the relevant Australian state/territory.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in diagnostic radiography, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Demonstrated ability to manage staff, schedules, and quality assurance in a healthcare setting.
Desirable Criteria (Optional but Valuable)
- Postgraduate qualifications in health leadership, management, or advanced imaging.
- Experience with PACS/RIS systems, budgeting, or private billing processes.
- Familiarity with private hospital workflows, KPIs, and business-oriented goals.
