Lumus Imaging is pleased to offer an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced Deputy Chief Radiographer to join our team at Werribee Mercy Hospital. This role is well suited to a senior radiographer who is passionate about clinical excellence, team leadership, and delivering high-quality imaging services within a dynamic hospital environment.
Reporting to the Chief Radiographer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting day-to-day operations, providing clinical leadership, and contributing to the ongoing growth and development of imaging services at the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Chief Radiographer with operational and clinical leadership of the department
- Provide hands-on clinical leadership and act as a senior escalation point
- Coordinate daily workflow, including rostering support and resource allocation
- Promote best practice, patient safety, and quality assurance across all services
- Lead training, supervision, and professional development of radiography staff
- Drive continuous improvement and maintain strong relationships with hospital stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams
About You
- AHPRA registration as a Medical Radiation Practitioner with a minimum of 5 years’ radiography experience, ideally in a hospital setting
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a senior or supervisory radiography role
- Strong clinical expertise across CT, general radiography, and theatre, which are core services at this site
- Mammography experience highly regarded, with a newly introduced service set to expand in 2026 to include interventional and contrast mammography
- Proven communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Interest in supporting service development, including preparation for a new Emergency Department opening in late 2026
