About the role

As Courier Supervisor you will be responsible for managing the Courier operations and a team of Couriers across the metro region of 3 Lyrebird Street, Buderim QLD 4556;This includes the collection, transportation, and delivery of specimens, as well as the management of ancillary items such as reports and stores. You will also manage the operations of the print room, fleet, and dispatch teams, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery.

You will be using your excellent leadership skills to provide team support, as well as to oversee the rostering and recruitment.

Using your process improvement skills, you will be managing projects and ensuring to ensure operational excellence.

Key Accountabilities will involve:

  • Supervision and mentoring of Metro Couriers, leading 1 to 1s and providing staff support, as well as recruiting for new vacancies
  • Review of Courier run sheets and staff rostering
  • Liaising between external and internal stakeholders
  • Projects and process improvement
  • Carrying out routine courier runs predominantly for the pickup and delivery of pathology samples including urgent specimens
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and QML Pathology  integrity
  • Compliance and adherence with all QML Pathology  policies and procedures, and Workplace Health and Safety procedures

 

About You

To be considered for this position, you will need to have a great blend of skills, including:

  • Demonstrated experience in logistics, pathology services, and/or management, with experience supervising and mentoring teams
  • Experience managing recruitment, rostering, and staff performance, with a focus on fostering staff engagement and development
  • An outstanding customer focus, including the interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with both internal and external customers
  • Must be a cohesive, contributing team member and display a flexible and positive attitude toward achieving outcomes
  • Good knowledge of [[Location]] and surrounding areas including the ability to use GPS monitoring systems for courier route planning
  • Strong integrity and reliability and a proactive attitude toward achieving operational excellence and team success
  • Effective time management and organisational skills to function efficiently in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • A willingness to adhere to departmental and organizational policies and procedures
  • A current Open Drivers’ License  either automatic or manual, recognized by the state of Queensland
  • Sound Computer skills including intermediate MS Excel and MS Word
