About The Role

We are seeking a Laboratory Manager to oversee operations and hospital relationships for laboratories at Burnie and Devonport, with expected time at each site relatively split.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Operational oversight of two multi-disciplinary laboratories (Biochemistry, Haematology/Coagulation/Blood Bank/Stat Mico) 
• Workflow and process management 
• Ensuring laboratories release results within agreed turnaround times
• Ensuring laboratories perform within budget
• Hospital relationship management
• Overseeing the management of laboratory equipment to ensure equipment is maintained in optimal condition and working order, scheduled routine maintenance is performed, and any unscheduled maintenance is performed as required 
• Reviewing and updating all laboratory documentation as required 
• Ensuring quality standards are met

About You 

To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the below criteria:

• Tertiary Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent 
• Must hold AIMS accreditation  
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in laboratory management
• Strong interpersonal skills to build meaningful partnerships 
• Experience in workflow/process review and implementation
• Results orientated and a proactive and effective problem solver 
• Proven skills in defining, prioritising, and organising competing tasks to meet deadlines 
• Ability to always demonstrate the highest levels of confidentiality and integrity
• Valid and current Driver's Licence is mandatory
