Why You Will Be Excited About This Role

At Healius, we all have one thing in common – we are passionate about making a difference to the health of Australians. And right now, it’s a pretty exciting time to join us, as we transform into a stronger, more agile organisation with a focus on creating excellent customer and patient experiences, smarter ways of working, and continuing our focus on being a great place to work.

You’ll join our Talent & Capability team within our People & Culture function and play a key role in shaping how our people learn, grow and deliver exceptional care. You’ll be at the heart of lifting capability and confidence for pathology collectors and coaches across our national network, helping to define what “great” looks like in both technical practice and customer service.

This is a role where your training experience will translate into real, organisation‑wide impact. You’ll be a trusted expert and mentor, influencing the consistency, safety and quality of the care our patients receive every day. If you’re motivated by helping others succeed, enjoy building a strong learning culture and want to contribute to a purpose‑driven organisation, you’ll find this role both meaningful and rewarding.

About Us

Healius has an expansive network of over 100 medical laboratories and 2000 patient collection centres operating across metropolitan, regional and remote Australia.

We provide 1 in every 3 pathology services in Australia, extending from exclusively servicing some of Australia’s largest and most complex private and public hospitals, to small Indigenous Australian communities.

This means that you will be working in a business large enough to offer you job stability & security, interstate mobility and the opportunity to fulfil your career ambitions.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Facilitator, you will deliver consistent, high-quality training and assessment that builds the capability, confidence and performance of pathology collectors and coaches. You’ll combine your industry experience, coaching skills and understanding of compliance to create safe, professional and customer-focused learning experiences.

In this role, you will:

  • Facilitate engaging training (virtual, face to face and practical) for new and existing pathology collectors and coaches.
  • Conduct competency assessments in line with the National Certification Framework and NATA requirements.
  • Support new hires through onboarding and probation, providing clear feedback, coaching and guidance.
  • Coach and mentor coaches, helping them build confidence and consistency in how they train and assess the Healius Way.
  • Keep training and assessment records accurate and up to date, in line with quality and compliance standards.
  • Work closely with Managers, Quality and Operations to align training with SOPs, policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to improving training materials and delivery, including refreshing content and using digital and AI tools where beneficial.

What Type of Person Will Be Successful

To be successful in this role, you’ll be an engaging facilitator who leads by example with professionalism and a solutions‑focused mindset. You’re able to navigate varied operational settings and work confidently across different sites, teams and priorities while keeping people engaged and aligned to best practice.

You will ideally bring:

  • Strong experience as a trainer or facilitator in a large, complex organisation.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry is highly advantageous, but experience in other service‑focused industries such as retail, hospitality or similar customer‑facing environments will also transfer well.
  • Previous experience as a Pathology Collector would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training & Assessment (or equivalent).
  • Certificate III or IV in Pathology Collection would be highly regarded but not essential.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, collaboration and change management skills.
  • Strong planning, organisation, prioritisation and communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel between multiple sites, supporting learning both in the classroom and on site.
  • The ability to take direction when needed, while also being confident in offering constructive feedback and contributing ideas to improve programs and processes.

We believe everyone leads, no matter what role they are in. Our ways of leading are the behaviours that we expect our people to embody and are: Customer Focused, Accountable, Collaborative, Credible & Resourceful.
