As Regional Pathology Collection Trainer, you will be using your in-depth knowledge Pathology Collection to inspire and train Pathology Collectors across Canberra and regional ACT.

 

You will be doing what you do best – coaching, guiding and training teams & individuals, fostering a culture of excellence and ensuring collectors deliver high-quality patient care.

What You Will Be Doing

 

As a Pathology Collections Trainer, you will use your extensive knowledge of Phlebotomy combined with your energy and experience in training to run our training school for Pathology Collectors.


Reporting to the Collections Training Lead, you will be instrumental in the day to day running of our Collection Centres as you inspire and train our collectors to deliver quality healthcare to our patients.


This role will see you leading training groups of 10-12 new collectors over a 2-week program on a monthly, rotational basis. You will also travel to our clinics across Sydney to provide on-going training needs and assessments of our existing collectors & the delivery of other training programs as required.
 


Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Keeping meticulous training records and conducting assessments to track progress
  • Following & suggesting enhancements for training procedures
  • Keeping up to date with and training collectors on our Collectors Portal
  • Using your people skills to coordinate, delegate, and help resolve trainee issues
  • Being a part of and actively participating in the wider Collector Training Team
  • Travelling to clinics across Canberra and the ACT to provide on-going one-on-one training
  • Providing assessments of existing collectors

 


What Type of Person Will Be Successful

 

 

You will have advanced experience in Pathology Collection and will be a natural leader with great verbal & written communication skills, as well as a drive to meet patient needs and a passion for training & helping others. You will hold a valid C Class Driver's license and be happy to travel across regional NSW to deliver training across clinics.

You will have demonstrated expertise & advanced training skills in adult and paediatric specimen collection, including ECG, Holter, Swabs, Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitor, Spirometry and Urine Drug Screening (AS4308) collections.

 

 

Desirable Requirements Include:

 

  • Certificate III in Pathology Collection
  • Cert IV in Training & Assessment
  • Proven experience in delivering training material, both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Working with Children’s Check
