What You’ll Be Doing

 

As the B2B Manager VIC / SA, you will lead business development and operational activities within the commercial portfolio, with a strong focus on growth, profitability and service excellence. You’ll work closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver seamless, end‑to‑end solutions for clients while ensuring quality, compliance and financial outcomes are met.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead business development activities to grow the non‑Medicare commercial portfolio across VIC and SA
  • Execute commercial strategies to drive revenue growth, productivity and profitability
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities while expanding and improving existing client partnerships
  • Manage key client relationships, service level agreements and commercial contractual arrangements
  • Oversee commercial marketing initiatives that support business development and brand awareness
  • Lead and manage the Commercial team, including workforce planning, performance management and capability development
  • Plan and manage resources, workloads and operational priorities to meet business and service requirements
  • Ensure quality, compliance and governance standards are met, including NATA and NPAAC requirements
  • Manage budgets and contribute to ongoing business and process improvement initiatives
  • Monitor, forecast and report on key account performance, growth opportunities and commercial outcomes

 

 

What Type of Person Will Be Successful

 

To be successful in this role, you will be a commercially astute, collaborative leader with a strong background in business development within the health or pathology sector. You thrive in complex environments, can translate strategy into operational outcomes, and are motivated by building high‑performing teams and long‑term client partnerships.

 

You will ideally bring:

  • Significant experience in health‑related business development and people leadership roles
  • Proven success in developing and executing business and sales strategies
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing complex financial and budget requirements
  • Demonstrated knowledge of pathology processes, laboratory systems and quality frameworks
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • A collaborative leadership style with the ability to inspire, influence and hold teams accountable
  • The ability to manage competing priorities with strong attention to detail and sound judgement
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Outlook
  • A current full unrestricted driver’s licence
