You will work at the intersection of science, strategy and customer insight, owning the end‑to‑end lifecycle of multiple genomic product categories. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with laboratory experts, commercial teams and clinicians nationwide, translating complex genomic science into compelling, clinically meaningful and commercially successful products across oncology, reproductive health, inherited disease and pharmacogenomics.
About Us
Genomic Diagnostics is the national genomics service for the Healius Pathology network. We provide comprehensive genetic and genomic testing across oncology, reproductive health, inherited disease, pharmacogenomics and haematology to a broad network of public and private hospitals and community referrers across Australia.
As genomic medicine continues to rapidly evolve, we are expanding our capabilities and investing in new technologies to support clinicians with timely, high‑quality and clinically meaningful genomic information. What You Will Be Doing
As a Product Manager within Genomic Diagnostics, you will be responsible for the end‑to‑end management of genomic products, supporting their strategic direction, market presence and ongoing success. Reporting to the Senior Product Manager, you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver products aligned to Genomic Diagnostics’ objectives.
Responsibilities will include:
- Develop product strategies, marketing plans and roadmaps aligned to Genomic Diagnostics’ overall strategy
- Conduct market research, competitor analysis and customer engagement to identify new opportunities and unmet needs
- Define product positioning, pricing and value propositions within national and international markets
- Lead cross‑functional collaboration with laboratory operations, sales, marketing, customer care and business development teams
- Drive product development from concept through to launch, including defining requirements, user stories and specifications
- Create and maintain product roadmaps, ensuring alignment with operational capability and available resources
- Plan and execute go‑to‑market strategies, product launches and promotional campaigns
- Develop marketing collateral, sales tools and training materials to support customer‑facing teams
- Act as the subject matter expert for assigned products, supporting sales teams, clinicians and customer care
- Monitor product performance and use data‑driven insights to guide enhancements, updates or product rationalisation
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards and marketing guidelines
What Type of Person Will Be Successful
To succeed in this role, you will be comfortable working with scientific, commercial and operational stakeholders, bringing structure and clarity to complex work. You are energised by managing a broad range of competing priorities, able to process detailed information and maintain attention to detail while communicating effectively across diverse stakeholder groups.
You will ideally bring:
- An undergraduate degree in Science or a related discipline (postgraduate qualification in business or marketing highly regarded)
- 5+ years’ experience in sales, marketing or product‑related roles within a clinical diagnostic environment
- Working knowledge of molecular and genomic testing methods and the clinical diagnostic market
- Experience developing marketing materials and supporting go‑to‑market activities for diagnostic products
- Understanding of regulatory requirements for clinical diagnostic market engagement
- Experience engaging with clinicians, including specialists and general practitioners
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organise and manage competing priorities
- A collaborative working style, with the ability to influence and work effectively across teams
- Demonstrated understanding of pathology processes and systems
