About the role
The afternoon shift Supervisor will lead the specimen receipt and cut up team, support Scientists and Technicians in cut up, review procedures, complete quality reviews and drive efficiency and workflow improvements.

About you
To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the essential requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Med Lab Science or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in all aspects of routine Histology, including extensive knowledge and experience in histological cut-up.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience with the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Strong attention to detail, effective problem-solving skills, and excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Experience with Workplace Health & Safety (WH&S), National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA), and quality management systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise the afternoon cut-up team, ensuring adherence to laboratory protocols and standards.
- Perform gross tissue dissection in line with laboratory protocols.
- Train and mentor scientists and technicians in cut-up procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly.
- Review and update procedures as required, implementing necessary changes.
- Conduct quality reviews to drive efficiency and implement workflow improvements.
- Communicate with the morning shift supervisor to share findings and collaboratively identify opportunities to improve quality and workflow processes.
- Ability to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines effectively.
