What You Will Be Doing


Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Support the implementation of Work Health and Safety (WHS) policies, procedures, and practices in line with organisational goals.

  • Respond promptly to WHS incidents and workplace issues with effective coordination and communication.

  • Assist with investigations into incidents, identify root causes, and support the development and implementation of corrective action plans.

  • Promote continuous improvement through regular WHS audits and initiatives that enhance workplace safety standards.

  • Coordinate WHS committees and consultative groups to ensure collaborative problem-solving and communication.

  • Support risk assessments, control reviews, and WHS evaluations of new projects alongside the operations team.

  • Provide expert WHS advice, training, and support to managers and employees to enhance awareness and compliance.


What Type of Person Will Be Successful

 

These are the type of attributes & skills you would possess:

  • Relevant WHS qualifications (Certificate IV or Diploma in Work Health and Safety OR a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety).

  • Prior experience in a WHS role, ideally within a complex or high-risk operational environment.

  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations, and standards.

  • Skilled in WHS processes including auditing, incident investigation, reporting, and ensuring corrective actions are completed.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build rapport across diverse teams.

  • Strong organisational and analytical abilities with a continuous improvement mindset.
