About The Role 

We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate and engaged team. Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Accurately identify and collate specimens (reporting any discrepancies to the supervisor)
  • Accurately accession specimens into the laboratory LIS
  • Retrieve and process LBC vials
  • Maintain specimen storage in an orderly manner
  • Accurate slide and block filing
  • Process Non-GYN samples
  • Equipment maintenance
  • Proactively adhere to and comply with all company WHS and injury management policies, procedures and training requirements designed to drive a safe working environment
  • Proactively identify and manage risks and ensure that all team members are aware of their obligations
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and Group policies and procedures
  • Support and coach team members in conjunction with the WHS and Return to Work Group Function regarding Occupational Health and Safety and Workers Compensation obligations

 

About You 

To be considered for this position, you will need to have a great blend of skills, including:

  • Cert IV or Diploma in Lab Techniques (required)
  • Previous experience in a pathology laboratory environment is advantageous
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks effectively and remain efficient under pressure
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to work effectively in a busy environment
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner
