Your role as a Pathology Courier Dispatch


Hours: Monday to Friday, 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM

 

About the Role:
We are currently seeking a Pathology Courier Dispatch to join our dynamic team at Western Diagnostics Pathology in Jandakot, WA. This varied role is based in our QML Laboratory and will see you play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of our courier network. You will be responsible for managing the transport of pathology samples, specimens, blood products, X-rays, vaccines, and clinical waste across multiple locations, as well as stepping in as a courier when needed.

This is a fast-paced, exciting opportunity for someone with excellent organisational skills who enjoys a challenge. You’ll be the backbone of the courier network, overseeing logistics, assisting with administrative tasks, and ensuring the efficient delivery of critical medical materials.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Courier Job Management: Create, organise, and prioritise courier jobs based on urgency.

  • Coordination: Liaise with laboratory staff, couriers, and other departments to ensure the smooth operation of the courier network.

  • Communication: Act as the main point of contact between referring medical practitioners and the medical liaison officer for store orders.

  • Administrative Support: Assist with various administrative tasks as required.

  • Monitor and Respond: Monitor alarms through the QML network and coordinate timely courier pickups.

  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to policies and procedures, Work Health and Safety protocols, and Quality Assurance processes.

  • Confidentiality: Maintain patient confidentiality and integrity at all times.

  • Physical Capability: Transport and handle medical equipment and materials weighing up to 15kg.

  • Time Management: Efficiently manage up to 30 courier stops per day while maintaining attention to detail.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Physical fitness to manage regular handling of items weighing up to 15kg.

  • A proactive attitude with the ability to follow instructions and make sound decisions when needed.

  • A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding high-quality standards.

About you

  • You have the ability to pick up and navigate systems
  • You work well in a fast-paced environment, to ensure high quality & timely results
  • Demonstrated customer service and stakeholder management skills
  • You work well in a team, as you play an important part in the wider pathology division
  • Valid open Australian driver’s license with an excellent driving record
  • Previous Pathology Courier experience is considered highly advantageous
  • You must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident or a New Zealand citizen, or hold a valid visa with permission to work

 

Requirements

  • 2 Covid vaccines are required in this role, as well as other vaccine preventable disease evidence such as Hepatitis B
  • Ability to work on a Saturday, with a rostered day off in the week
