Why You Will Be Excited About This Role

In this Area Manager – Pathology Collections role, you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality collections service delivery to patients and key healthcare networks, supporting the organisation and business growth, and managing and optimising collections processes.

Working with a broad range of people across a large area, you will be involved in the development and coaching of collection leadership. You will also spearhead the rollout of national projects and initiatives, making a significant impact on the organisation's success.

 

What You Will Be Doing

As an Area Manager – Pathology Collections, you will:

  • Communicate and drive the national collection standards across levels of the collections structure.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality and consistent collection services across the region’s collections centre network, meeting all accreditation requirements and standards (including Quality and WHS).
  • Elevate customer satisfaction and improve patient and provider experiences in ACCs and hospitals.
  • Ensure effective and efficient collections processes and resource allocation for optimal network utilisation and service excellence.
  • Attract, engage, and retain collections staff.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, motivation, and performance management to the Collection Leads.
  • Support the Collection Leads in alignment with Enterprise Agreements, Employee Relations, and Industrial Relations frameworks.
  • Collaborate with commercial teams/MLOs on the execution of strategies for growth.
  • Oversee implementation of measures to uphold high standards of collections for timely, accurate, and reliable results reporting.
  • Identify areas for operational improvement, including processes, opening hours, marketing, and signage harmonisation, and collaborate with the transformation team to implement.

What Type of Person Will Be Successful

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have operational excellence, quality and safety management, stakeholder engagement, coordination and management, compliance and assurance, leadership and team management, and commercial acumen.
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviours such as providing direction, managing and measuring work, strategic agility, self-awareness, effective communication, business acumen, timely decision-making, problem-solving, integrity and trust, driving for results, taking action, developing direct reports, building effective teams, motivating others, and relationship building.
  • We are looking ideally for someone with healthcare experience as we have outpatient ACCs and hospitals in these regions. You could be a nurse with some commercial industry experience, or an experienced collection leader from the pathology field. Other fields requiring sharp organisational and communication skills are also considered.
