We have an exciting opportunity for a Courier Manager to lead the courier function for QML courier operations in Brisbane.

Our Couriers & Fleet Management division are the driving force to ensure our laboratories, clinics, and healthcare partners receive the specimens and supplies they need, when they need them.

QML Pathology is a Healius business. About the Role

As Courier Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of courier, access control, despatch and fleet management activities.

You will be a natural leader, and will be responsible for managing a team, workplace health & safety, operational performance, financial performance and liaising with key stakeholders in the business.

 

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading a team of 3 direct reports – the Fleet controller and the North and South Metro Courier supervisors.
  • Liaising with key stakeholders e.g. business managers, operations, department and branch managers
  • Ensure all health & safety hazards are effectively identified, assessed, controlled and reviewed
  • Oversee the despatch team to ensure workflow and procedure are managed efficiently
  • Efficient management of QML fleet
  • Review & manage the financial performance of departments
  • Constant process improvement & recommendations

 

What Type of Person Will Be Successful

To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced operational leader in the fleet /logistics space, with pathology knowledge and/or experience.

These are the type of attributes & skills you would possess:

  • Suitable tertiary qualification or relevant experience in logistics, transport, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience managing large teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong working knowledge of courier operations and fleet management
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Experience with staff training, supervision, and performance management
  • Commitment to safety, compliance, and operational excellence
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in budget management and process optimisation
  • Current clean drivers licence
