About the Role 

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our high-throughput pathology laboratory. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting daily operations by performing routine and specialized laboratory procedures, ensuring accurate specimen handling, and maintaining the efficiency and quality of analytical workflows. This role is ideal for individuals with previous experience in pathology, toxicology, clinical diagnostics, or high-throughput analytical chemistry environments.Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, log, and prepare clinical and non-clinical specimens in accordance with laboratory protocols and safety standards
  • Perform routine laboratory tests, instrument operation, and sample preparation tasks following documented procedures (SOPs)
  • Operate and maintain high-throughput automated analyzers, liquid handling systems, and other laboratory equipment
  • Ensure accurate data entry, record-keeping, and documentation to maintain sample integrity and traceability
  • Monitor quality control results, identify irregularities, and assist in troubleshooting equipment or assay issues
  • Adhere to strict turnaround-time (TAT) requirements while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Follow laboratory safety policies and guidelines, including waste disposal, PPE use, and biological/chemical hazard management
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects involving workflow optimization, automation, and quality assurance
  • Collaborate effectively with scientists, senior technicians, and laboratory management to support operational goals

To be considered for this position, you will need to have a great blend of essential skills and qualifications, including:

  • Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, Chemistry, or a related discipline
  • Previous experience working in a pathology laboratory, toxicology laboratory, or high-throughput analytical chemistry environment
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality results
  • Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS/LIMS) and electronic documentation
  • Ability to follow complex protocols and maintain compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., NATA, ISO 15189, or equivalent)
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team

 

The desirable qualities are as below:

  • Experience with automated sample handling or robotic platforms
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and laboratory accreditation requirements
  • Experience troubleshooting analytical instruments or assays
  • Understanding of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and high-volume workflow management
