A vacancy currently exists for a full time Warfarin Consultant within our Warfarin Clinic at Murarrie. This role works 5 days per week, and a rotational Saturday and public holiday shifts with the team.

The Warfarin Care Clinic is designed to operate as an outpatient Warfarin monitoring service for the organisations referring doctors, and this is an opportunity to join a service driven team with an excellent work ethic.

 

We are seeking a caring individual with a nursing, medical or laboratory background who has a passion for customer service, and an ability to think outside the square using excellent problem-solving skills. The position will cover various shifts between 7.30am and 6pm Monday to Friday with rostered Saturday and public holidays.

 

Responsibilities

  • Answering incoming calls from patients; doctors, and other allied health carers.
  • Making outgoing calls to patients and/or their carer to communicate their results and warfarin dose instructions.
  • Other discussions will relate to changes to medical history, and medications; discussions and advice pre and post procedures, and hospital admissions.
  • Accepting new patients registered into the Warfarin clinic and obtaining a full medical history from doctors and hospitals.
  • Liaising with doctors, hospitals, pharmacies, and nursing facilities
  • General administration tasks.

 

About You

  • Have a background in nursing, medical or laboratory
  • Excellent telephone manner and skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology
  • Strong customer service focus.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Must be a cohesive and contributing member of the team and display positive attitudes towards achieving outcomes.
  • Strong time management, interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Able to analyse, consider, and solve problems
  • General office, computer, and administration skills.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A willingness to adhere to departmental and organisational policies and procedures.
