About The Role

Located at our central Murarrie laboratory, the Warfarin Care Clinic is designed to support patients prescribed warfarin and their referring doctors. As a Clinical Support Officer (internally titled Warfarin Consultant), you’ll be the first point of contact for patients and healthcare providers, ensuring safe and effective warfarin management through timely communication of results and dosage instructions.

This is a full-time permanent role, working 5 days per week with shifts between 7:30am and 6:00pm Monday to Friday, plus rotational Saturday and public holiday shifts.

Key responsibilities and duties include:

  • Provide patient care and support by responding to incoming calls from patients, doctors, and allied health carers
  • Make outgoing calls to patients or their carers to communicate INR results and deliver clear, safe warfarin dosage instructions
  • Register new patients and obtain medical histories from doctors and hospitals
  • Liaise with patients, doctors, hospitals, pharmacies, and nursing facilities regarding changes to medical history, medications, and provide advice pre- and post-procedures or hospital admissions
  • Manage patient records and clinical information accurately in our systems
  • Perform general administration tasks to keep the clinic running smoothly

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be someone who is passionate and confident in a role where providing patient care is at the heart of what you do. You’ll bring:
  • Experience liaising with patients in a medical or healthcare setting
  • A background in nursing, medical, or laboratory work (highly beneficial but not essential)
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Confidence in handling clinical information and providing clear instructions
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office

If you’ve worked in a hospital, medical centre, pathology, or similar environment, or you’re looking to transition from a clinical role into a patient-focused administration position, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
