About Us
Healius has an expansive network of over 80 medical laboratories and 2,000 patient collection centres operating across metropolitan, regional and remote Australia. We provide 1 in every 4 pathology service in Australia, extending from exclusively servicing some of Australia’s largest and most complex private and public hospitals, to remote Australian communities.

What You’ll Be Doing
As Communications Manager, you will lead portfolio‑specific internal and external communications that support Healius’ mission and strategic priorities. You’ll provide trusted, practical communications advice to clinical and operational leaders and deliver high‑quality content across multiple channels.
Key responsibilities include:
- Support the Head of Communications to deliver Healius’ internal and external communications strategy, including CSR initiatives
- Develop and deliver enterprise‑wide internal communications and leadership resources across a range of channels, including newsletters, video, intranet content and events
- Build strong relationships with executive leaders and key business partners across the organisation
- Develop communication strategies that enhance employee engagement and support organisational change and cultural transformation
- Provide expert communications advice and support for high‑priority, employee‑facing projects and programs
- Oversee content development and production of the monthly Healius internal newsletter
- Identify and pursue external communications opportunities for Clinical and Operations teams
- Lead media relations activity, including proactive story development and reactive media management
- Create content for Healius’ social media channels
What Type of Person Will Be Successful
To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced communications professional who is comfortable developing compelling content as well as providing strategic guidance to senior stakeholders. You bring a collaborative, proactive approach to your work, build strong relationships and can deliver quality work at pace.
You will ideally bring:
- Tertiary qualifications (or equivalent experience) in communications, marketing or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in communications and/or media relations roles within complex organisations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a focus on clarity, accuracy and practical messaging
- Proven ability to partner with senior leaders and subject matter experts
- Experience using tools such as SharePoint and Canva
- (Desirable) Experience in healthcare, clinical or regulated environments
- (Desirable) Experience communicating with large, geographically dispersed or frontline workforces
- (Desirable) Change management communications experience
