At Healius, we all have one thing in common: we’re passionate about making a difference to the health of Australians. Right now, it’s an exciting time to join us as we transform into a stronger, more agile organisation focused on excellent customer and patient experiences, smarter ways of working, and providing a great place to work.

About Us

Healius has an expansive network of over 80 medical laboratories and 2000 patient collection centres operating across metropolitan, regional and remote Australia. We provide 1 in every 3 pathology services in Australia, extending from exclusively servicing some of Australia’s largest and most complex private and public hospitals, to small Indigenous Australian communities. This means that you will be working in a business large enough to offer you job stability & security, interstate mobility and the opportunity to fulfil your career ambitions.

What You’ll Be Doing

Reporting to the Business Manager, you will lead the operational and commercial performance of hospital‑based and on‑road pathology collection services, including home visits, nursing homes and healthcare facilities. You will directly manage and develop teams of on‑road Pathology Collectors, ensuring high service standards, strong compliance, and exceptional patient and referrer experiences across diverse care settings.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Drive regional initiatives aligned with broader business strategy
  • Act as the primary point of contact for regional referrer, hospital and staff enquiries
  • Lead, coach and support teams of on‑road pathology collectors delivering hospital and home visit services
  • Identify and execute local business development and growth opportunities across hospitals and community care settings
  • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with referrers to grow referral volumes
  • Conduct regular site and environment inspections to uphold brand, hygiene and compliance standards
  • Partner with internal stakeholders, including other Customer & Commercial Managers and executive leaders
  • Champion innovation through adoption of digital tools and smarter ways of working
  • Embed a high‑performance culture focused on accountability, growth and continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with quality, regulatory and workplace health & safety requirements
  • Act as a visible, values‑led leader who drives change and delivers on commitments
  • Represent Healius at community, hospital and industry events to strengthen referral and stakeholder relationships

What Type of Person Will Be Successful

To succeed in this role, you will bring strong pathology leadership experience with a deep understanding of hospital and on‑road collection environments, including home visits and aged‑care facilities. You will be commercially minded, people‑focused, and confident leading dispersed teams who deliver care autonomously.

You will need to meet the below requirements:

  • Previous experience in pathology (essential), with exposure to hospitals, on‑road or home visit collection services a must
  • Experience leading collections teams operating across multiple sites or mobile environments (essential)
  • Demonstrated ability to engage, coach and inspire autonomous teams
  • Strong relationship‑building skills with referrers, hospitals and healthcare stakeholders
  • Solid experience in quality systems, compliance and WHS within healthcare
  • Commercial acumen with a track record of delivering operational and revenue outcomes
  • Confidence using digital tools such as CRM systems, BI tools, Medway or similar platforms
