About The Role
We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate and engaged team. Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Routine screening of gynaecological and non-gynaecological specimens
- Attendance at FNAs and EBUS procedures to perform ROSE
- Maintaining up-to-date scientific knowledge
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including referring clinicians, regarding results and referrals
- Ensuring compliance with all Policies and Procedures, WHS requirements, and Quality Assurance processes
About You
To be considered for this role, you will need to demonstrate:
- Degree in Medical Laboratory Science (or equivalent)
- Skills in both gynaecological and non-gynaecological cytology
- CTASC (Gyn) qualification required; full CTASC preferred
- Previous microscopy/morphology experience (entry-level applicants considered; training toward CTASC provided)
- Strong time management, interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to thrive in a busy laboratory environment
- Demonstrated initiative and problem‑solving abilities
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and a commitment to quality
- Willingness to comply with departmental and organisational policies and procedures
- Positive team‑focused attitude
- Ability to provide vaccination history relevant to vaccine‑preventable disease requirements
