What You’ll Be Doing

As a Full Stack Developer within our Pathology Applications team, you will design, develop and maintain complex web‑based software applications using Django and React. You’ll work closely with developers, technical leads, testers and business stakeholders to deliver high‑quality solutions that replace and enhance existing pathology laboratory systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop, test and maintain full‑stack web applications using agile methodologies
  • Design and implement new features based on business and technical specifications
  • Investigate and resolve software defects raised by users and stakeholders
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement practices
  • Collaborate with development, UX/UI, QC testing and application specialist teams
  • Ensure solutions meet quality, security and governance standards, including SDLC requirements
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient and organisational information
  • Support a positive, agile and respectful team culture
  • Adhere to workplace health and safety policies and procedures

 

What Type of Person Will Be Successful

You are an experienced and technically strong full stack developer who enjoys working in complex, regulated environments. You’re comfortable balancing new feature development with ongoing system support and thrive when working as part of a high‑performing agile team

 

You must meet the below requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in software development
  • Experience working in the pathology industry with minimum 12 months’ experience working with a Pathology Laboratory Information System (LIS)
  • Strong full‑stack development experience using Python (Django) and React (TypeScript/JavaScript)
  • Experience working with PostgreSQL / SQL databases
  • Solid understanding of software development and engineering best practices
  • Excellent problem‑solving, debugging and fault‑finding skills
  • Strong time management and prioritisation skills
  • Experience working in Unix/Linux environments
  • Familiarity with Docker and Git
  • Exposure to HL7 messaging standards (e.g. AS4700.2)
