What You Will Be Doing
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Group Finance division as a Group Reporting Manager (GRM) on a 12 month contract. The role will report to the General Manager – Financial Reporting & Controls and take ownership over the consolidation and reporting of monthly Group results for management and statutory purposes, including half year and year external reporting.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Preparation and co-ordination of statutory reporting requirements – annual report and half year report for the Group and standalone financials of offshore entities
- Delivery of monthly consolidated management results within reporting deadlines and provide insight to results
- Proactive communication and engagement with operating business units to ensure reporting timetable is met and to deliver on initiatives
- Supporting the Group in delivering insight, strategic initiatives and value add analysis
- Preparation of accounting papers on technical matters
- Adhere to the financial controls and financial control framework
- Partnering with the operating business units and the wider business to deliver on finance initiatives, and process improvement programs
- Co-manage GL (SAP) and consolidation system (BPC), including process improvement and identifying opportunities to streamline processes and drive efficiencies in both systems
- Management and support of the external auditors
- Actively identifying opportunities for improvement, proposing solutions and driving change
What Type of Person Will Be Successful
These are the type of attributes & skills you would possess:
- CA or CPA qualified with 4+ years’ Big 4 audit experience or equivalent commercial experience in a group reporting role
- Role is suited for a second-time mover with a Big 4 accounting background
- Results focused - able to manage deadlines and does what it takes to ensure results are achieved
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Proactive and shows initiative
- Problem solver and not afraid to challenge convention in order to improve a process
- Strong system skills - Have the right mind set to get in and understand how systems work and how to leverage systems to gather data in an efficient and effective manner
- The ability to think independently and thrive in a team environment
- SAP and BPC knowledge highly regarded
