Purpose of the Role:
To deliver safe, accurate, and efficient pathology collection services while maintaining high standards of patient care, operational compliance, and business continuity across all assigned sites.
Core Responsibilities:
- Perform venepuncture and all required specimen collections
- Ensure correct patient identification and accurate sample labelling
- Maintain specimen integrity and coordinate timely handover to couriers
- Operate using Medway and support the transition to a full e-referral workflow
- Maintain site stock levels (tubes, consumables, and forms)
- Ensure site readiness at all times, including cleanliness, equipment, and functionality
- Provide professional and courteous customer service to patients and stakeholders
- Escalate any issues impacting patient care, compliance, or business continuity
- Adhere to WHS, infection control, and company policies and procedures
Performance Expectations:
- Zero tolerance for patient misidentification
- High level of accuracy in data entry and sample handling
- Strong focus on patient experience and retention
- Contribute to business growth through consistent and reliable service delivery
Key Requirements:
- Certificate III in Pathology Collection
- Demonstrated competency in venepuncture
- Familiarity with Medway or similar laboratory information systems
- Ability to work across multiple sites as required
- Australian citizenship
