As Rostering Lead, you will be instrumental in this transformation, spearheading the Rostering team to better ways of working and ensuring the smooth running of our vital Pathology Collections operations.

How This Role Will Develop Your Skills & Career
This role will enhance your analytical skills, particularly in balancing staffing levels with fluctuating operational needs. You will gain expertise in using workforce management software, honing skills in both the technical and strategic aspects of rostering, as well as deepen your understanding of EBA compliance.
You will also be building cross-functional communication and engagement skills, as you will work with different teams to address real-time challenges and adapt schedules in response to changing demands.
As you will be a part of high-level decisions and continuous improvement initiatives, this role offers great opportunity to higher responsibility positions as you demonstrate the ability to lead effectively in a dynamic environment.

What You Will Be Doing
Reporting to the State Manager of Pathology Collections, you will be using your leadership skills to mentor and manage the Rostering Officer team of 8, fostering an efficient, collaborative and motivated team environment.
Your role will involve coordinating the day-to-day operations, working towards the wider business strategy and goals, initiating process improvements & system updates, ensuring the creation of accurate and efficient rosters for Pathology Collectors (permanent and casual), and filling planned and unplanned vacancies across the Pathology Collector Network, working closely with other stakeholders in the business including the Commercial Team, Marketing and Pathology Collector Leads.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Mentoring, leading and supporting the Rostering team to work towards shared organisational goals and strategy
- Overseeing the rostering of approximately 2000 collectors
- Planning rosters to be available 6 weeks in advance of the current date
- Ensuring and monitoring timely and accurate data entry within UKG (Kronos) to ensure accurate rostering based on employee skills and client requirements
- Participating in testing updates on UKG (Kronos) functions
- Implementing new systems updates including updating procedures and workflows
What Type of Person Will Be Successful
You will be experienced in the world of rostering and would have ideally worked your way up from a Rostering Officer yourself.
You are passionate about leading teams and know how to motivate, mentor and manage successful & engaged teams as well as be excited about creating new and improved ways of working.
These are the type of attributes & skills you would possess:
- Great leadership and team management experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience with electronic rostering systems including being proficient in UKG (Kronos Time & Attendance) system
- Strong communication skills, as you will be liaising with multiple stakeholders and teams across the business
- Proven ability to prioritise workload and multi-task to ensure work requirements are completed within expected timeframes
- Demonstrated ability to undertake detailed work and maintain information systems with a high degree of accuracy
- Working knowledge of and the ability to apply Award conditions when shift rostering
