What You Will Be Doing

 

Reporting to the Head of Legal – Property & Commercial, you will act as a strategic legal partner to the business, delivering independent and timely legal advice that supports patient care, regulatory compliance and our healthcare mission.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Provide accurate drafting and counsel across a variety of commercial contracting matters, including IT agreements, confidentiality, procurement, service level agreements, B2B agreements and tenders.
  • Engage proactively with stakeholders to identify, manage and mitigate legal and regulatory risks specific to the healthcare sector.
  • Negotiate directly and via external counsel with third parties including regulators, public authorities and external legal firms.
  • Champion continuous improvement by streamlining legal processes and promoting best practice.
  • Support the team flexibly by assisting with diverse legal matters outside the commercial contracting space as organisational needs arise.

 

What Type of Person Will Be Successful

 

We are looking for a highly skilled and approachable legal professional who thrives in a dynamic, complex environment and is committed to delivering practical, lawful solutions.

 

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

 

  • A valid Australian legal practising certificate.
  • Minimum 8 years post-qualification experience in a law firm and/or in-house corporate environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of commercial and contract law.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Sound judgement and ability to analyse complex situations.
  • A proactive, positive and energetic approach with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and deliver on deadlines.
  • Approachable, accurate and affable – someone who adds value.
