About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Officer to join our high performing team. The Technical Officer will perform specialist analytical assays on samples presented to the Trace Element area.
As the Technical Officer, you will become part of a passionate, vibrant and engaged team that is responsible for:
• Process specimens from receipt to results
• Record results following documented protocols
• Validate results as required
• Answer enquiries from external and internal sources
• Perform cleaning and maintenance of laboratory equipment
• Equipment calibration
• Participate in rotating rosters as required
• Collaborate with Laboratory Manager and the Chief Scientists from Core Laboratory to identify areas for improvement and implement workflow enhancements for continuous laboratory improvement
About you
To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the below essential requirements:
• Diploma of Health Science (Pathology Techniques) or equivalent
• Previous experience in a lab is desired but not essential
• A willingness to adhere to departmental and organisational policies and procedures.
• Self-initiative and problem-solving capabilities
• Demonstrate integrity and professionalism in all tasks
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• This role may require additional vaccination history and evidence for department specific vaccine preventative diseases.
