About the role
We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate and engaged team to work in our Multidisciplinary Laboratory. Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
• Duties across disciplines in Haematology, Haemostasis,Transfusion medicine and Biochemistry
• Validation of results and provision of comprehensive reports to assist with client or clinical decisions in a time-critical manner
• Perform regular maintenance and basic troubleshooting on instrumentation, equipment and manual techniques and maintain accurate records
• Participate in regular training for relevant techniques and instrument operation and engage in ongoing departmental competency programs and external quality assurance initiatives
• Collaborate with Laboratory Manager and the Chief Scientists from Core Laboratory to identify areas for improvement and implement workflow enhancements for continuous laboratory improvement

To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the essential requirements:
- Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) & or Diploma of Health Science (Pathology Techniques) or equivalent
- Be able to work a Monday - Saturday rotating roster as well as participating in an on-call roster
- Previous experience in a multidisciplinary clinical laboratory desired
- Recent experience in Haematology, Haemostasis, Transfusion medicine and Biochemistry is desirable
- A willingness to adhere to departmental and organisational policies and procedures
- Self-initiative and problem-solving capabilities
- Demonstrate integrity and professionalism in all tasks
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- This role may require additional vaccination history and evidence for department specific vaccine preventative diseases
- Have well-rounded understanding of Quality control and Quality Management across various departments and solid
understanding of NATA requirements/ ISO 15189 - A strong customer focused approach displaying well-developed interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with customers, patients and clinical and laboratory staff
- Strong report writing skills, statistical evaluation of scientific data and the ability to effectively communicate policies and procedures
- It is a mandatory requirement to have a current and valid Driver's License and own car
