About the role 

We are seeking a Laboratory Manager to join our team of talented individuals at Healius. Working in a team of ? and reporting to ?. This role is a fantastic mix of supervising staff and hands on laboratory work.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising a laboratory with two other medical scientists in a multi-disciplinary setting (Biochemistry, Haematology/Coagulation/Blood Bank) 
  • Prioritising work- flow to meet client’s requirements 
  • Ensuring results are released within agreed turnaround times
  • Liaising with senior staff and Pathologists regarding unusual and abnormal results 
  • Overseeing the management of laboratory equipment to ensure equipment is maintained in optimal condition and working order, scheduled routine maintenance is performed, and any unscheduled maintenance is performed as required 
  • Reviewing and updating all laboratory documentation as required 

 

About you 

To be considered for this position, you will need to have a great blend of skills, including:

  • Must hold Bachelor of Science (Medical science) or other AIMS accredited equivalent degree
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a multi-disciplinary scientific role
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build meaningful partnerships 
  • Experience in working under tight deadlines to meet day to day targets, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks within set timeline 
  • Results orientated and a proactive and effective problem solver 
  • Proven skills in defining, prioritising, and organising competing tasks to meet deadlines 
  • Ability to always demonstrate the highest levels of confidentiality and integrity
