About The Role
We are seeking a Laboratory Manager who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate and engaged team.This role is a fantastic mix of supervising staff and hands-on laboratory work.Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Supervising a laboratory with a small team of medical scientists in a multi-disciplinary setting (Biochemistry, Haematology/Coagulation/Blood Bank)
- Prioritising work- flow to meet client’s requirements
- Ensuring results are released within agreed turnaround times
- Liaising with senior staff and Pathologists regarding unusual and abnormal results
- Overseeing the management of laboratory equipment to ensure equipment is maintained in optimal condition and working order, scheduled routine maintenance is performed, and any unscheduled maintenance is performed as required
- Reviewing and updating all laboratory documentation as required
About You
To be considered for this position, you will need to have a great blend of skills, including:
- A Bachelor of Science(Medical Science) or other AIMS accredited equivalent degree
- At least 2 years’ experience in a multi-disciplinary scientific role
- Strong interpersonal skills to build meaningful partnerships
- Experience in working under tight deadlines to meet day to day targets, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks within set timeline
- Results orientated and a proactive and effective problem solver
- Proven skills in defining, prioritising, and organising competing tasks to meet deadlines
- Ability to always demonstrate the highest levels of confidentiality and integrity
