As Specialist Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in engaging with medical specialists to drive growth and retention across your territory. The role focuses on identifying high-potential referrers, deepening relationships with existing clients, and promoting the value of Healius Pathology’s services.

Although this position has no formal direct reports, it involves collaboration and informal leadership — including sharing market insights, supporting national campaigns, and contributing to team capability uplift.


What You Will Be Doing

Your key responsibilities will include:

•    Execute the specialist growth strategy within your allocated territory, aligning with local and national objectives
•     Develop and implement tailored business plans for key specialist groups to meet revenue and activity targets.
•    Build and sustain strong relationships with medical specialists, practice managers, and key hospital stakeholders.
•    Support colleagues through sharing best practices, mentoring on territory planning, and contributing to team initiatives.
•    Participate in national and local campaigns focused on revenue generation and new service uptake.
•    Maintain expert knowledge of pathology services and support materials, ensuring effective communication with clients.
•    Monitor and report on territory performance, using insights to adjust activity plans and highlight emerging opportunities.
•    Represent Healius at conferences, seminars, and industry events to strengthen brand awareness and market presence.

These are the type of attributes & skills you would posses;

•    Tertiary qualification in Science, Healthcare, Business, or a related discipline
•    Minimum 4 years of commercial or business development experience in healthcare, pathology, or related services
•    Demonstrated success in achieving sales/revenue targets and managing a territory or portfolio
•    Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with medical specialists and stakeholders
•    Ability to work independently, with initiative and accountability for results
•    Comfortable sharing knowledge, coaching peers, and contributing to a collaborative team environment                                                                                  •    Analytical thinker with the ability to adapt strategies based on market conditions and performance insights
