What You Will Be Doing

 

As Area Manager, you will be overseeing the Pathology Collection service for the Sunshine Coast and Regional Area – from Caloundra to Cairns and everywhere in between!

This role can be based in any locations within this Area with a travel component of 1 week per month anticipated.

 

Our Pathology Collection service is the start of a patient's health journey and is a crucial part of the pathology lifecycle. We employ 4000+ passionate, caring & skilled Pathology Collectors and you will be ensuring that this service runs with excellence.

 

You will be overseeing the patient service delivery, managing key healthcare networks, and supporting the organisation and business growth including Collection Centre availability.

 

As well as managing the service delivery, you will be leading a team of 8 Pathology Collection Leads, providing them support to manage their large teams of 20-40 pathology collectors.

 

Using your commercial acumen, you will be managing and optimising collections processes, supporting training and rolling out new technology designed to enhance efficiency and support revenue growth for region.

 

You will be working closely with the State Manager of Pathology Collections, as well as other senior stakeholders in the business.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring effective and efficient collections processes and resource allocation for optimal network utilisation and service excellence
  • Ensuring the delivery of high quality and consistent collection services across the region’s collection centre network, meeting all accreditation requirements and standards (including Quality and WHS)
  • Elevating customer satisfaction and improving patient and provider experiences in collection centres and hospitals
  • Attracting new, and engaging and retaining existing Pathology Collections staff
  • Providing leadership, guidance, motivation and performance management to your team of Collection Leads
  • Supporting the Collection Leads in alignment with Enterprise Agreements , Employee Relations and Industrial Relations frameworks
  •  Communicating and driving the national collection standards across levels of the collections structure

  • A sound knowledge of & experience in the pathology industry is beneficial but not mandatory
