Why You Will Be Excited About This Role

An opportunity is now available for an experienced commercial Finance Business Partner to join our Queensland based team on a 12 month fixed term contract. This role provides financial support for the GP referral segment of our pathology business, which accounts for over 70% of the total revenue as well as overall collection centre network strategy and CX.

This role will involve working closely with senior management and operational teams to ensure financial targets are met and opportunities for value creation are identified and leveraged.

What You Will Be Doing


Your key responsibilities will include:

Business Partnering:

  • Act as the primary finance contact for the GP, Marketing and CX teams within the Commercial & Customer function.
  • Provide tailored financial and commercial advice and work closely with senior leaders and other stakeholders to influence and support strategic decision-making through financial analysis and data-driven insights.
  • Act as a local bridge between the business and specialised finance teams, supporting in both directions and knowing when to seek expert advice.

 

Financial Reporting, Analysis & Performance Management

  • Identify business value drivers and oversee financial performance reporting through articulating variance analysis, scenario and sensitivity modelling, key performance indicators (KPIs), and ad-hoc analysis
  • Present findings to stakeholders and recommend actions to optimise financial outcomes.

Strategic Financial Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Develop and deliver strategic financial planning alongside other Finance Business Partners to lead the budgeting and forecasting processes for the Commercial & Customer function and provide financial insights that inform business strategy and operational execution while ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and accurate financial projections. 

Business Case & Project Support

  • Support, review, challenge and make recommendations for key business cases and contracts including cost assumptions, benefit realisation plans and risks within the Commercial & Customer function which will contribute to an informed approval process. Provide financial expertise and support for delivery of approved projects.

Collaboration with Broader Finance and Cross-Functional Teams

  • Facilitate and lead cross-team and cross-functional discussions where joint financial insights and ownership will allow for more holistic decision-making.

Risk Management

  • Assess financial risks and work with the business to mitigate them, ensuring robust financial controls are in place.

You are a strategic thinker with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights, underpinned by strong financial acumen and analytical skills.

 

These are the type of attributes & skills you would possess:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field. CA/CPA qualification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a finance business partnering role or similar.
  • Proven track record in strategic financial planning, analysis, and business partnering.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems and business intelligence tools experience – SAP, Anaplan, PowerBI.
