The Role

Reporting to the National Hospital and PHI manager, and covering VIC/WA, the Hospital Key Account Manager will play a key role in promoting one of Australia’s leading pathology providers. Working closely with key stakeholders in hospitals within your allocated territory, you will develop strong relationships, monitor performance, respond to queries, help develop and execute territory business plans to achieve commercial revenue targets

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, including hospital administrators, procurement officers, and department heads.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, addressing their needs and concerns effectively.
  • Create and implement account strategies tailored to the specific needs and goals of each key client.
  • Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts and develop strategies to capitalize on them.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with key accounts
  • Monitor and manage contract performance, addressing any issues or discrepancies that arise.
  • Maintain in depth knowledge of promotional materials, services aligning with clients need. 
  • Gather intelligence of target market, provide insights on market changes
  • Work collaboratively with local team to achieve shared goals by sharing knowledge, experience, and insights
  • Attending national and state-based conferences when required

 

Role Competencies

  • Tertiary or equivalent qualifications in Science, Healthcare or Business with specialist sales experience
  • 2+ years working in a similar role
  • Ability to develop deep insights, uncover market gaps, drive innovation, collaborate and lead
  • Strong analytical, creative problem-solving skills to manage revenue and budget initiatives
  • Strong negotiation and strategic skills
  • Creating and seizing opportunities to expand into new markets
